Growing up fitness was a struggle for me.
My family was not very into sports and neither was I throughout school. In high school, I was on the swim team and played a bit of rugby, but never really found a passion for it. It wasn’t until I looked down at the scale at the age of 18 and saw the startling number of 315lbs that I knew I needed to make a change.
At the time, all I wanted to do was the join the military. But, every recruiter turned me away due to my weight being too high. It was right then that I had a new goal, and a strong drive to get in shape. Over the course of the next 8 months, I dropped more than 60lbs, enough to finally make it into a recruiting station and join the United States Army as an infantry mortar-man. During this time, fitness became more and more ingrained into my life. I lost more weight, gained more strength, and became a much healthier person.
However, over the next few years, military life did take its toll on my body, as well as those of my friends in the service. Eventually, I suffered an injury to my body that caused shooting pain down my leg for close to 9 months. Seeing my fellow soldiers in the Army constantly broken down with various degrees of chronic pain, and experiencing my own personal history of debilitating low back pain, I knew there was more I could do to help myself and those around me.
I decided to become a chiropractor to better understand the mechanisms behind why so many people experience lingering pain from injuries that occurred years ago. I decided to become a part of the solution; to help people get out of pain, and keep doing the things they love without the chronic symptoms.
It is a strong passion of mine to help people change how they move for the betterment of their body and become stronger even in the opposing odds of debilitating injury. I dedicate my time in continuing education and learning new tools and techniques to help people get better faster. Getting people back to what they love is my number one goal and it is my wish to see you succeed as well.
Please feel free to ask me any questions related to achieving your goals.
